daily juice report - rams are ready to go to the superbowl
Alright here it is, another Daily Juice Report - and this time there’s some big news.
The LA Rams are receiving CB Trent McDuffie from the KC Chiefs for 3 draft picks this year - 1st Round (29), and 5th/6th round picks. They will also receive a 3rd round pick in the 2027 draft, so quite some capital in a time where college athlete production has been pretty solid. It’s pretty on par for the Rams to give up their first-round pick, I think they’ve only used one in the last 9 years or so. It’s also an incredible deal for the #1 offensive team in the league. Think about it, they could pace scoring with damn-near any other team, but the one thing they lacked was that defensive edge. Now with McDuffie (former 21st pick), they can put in some serious work to make it past the conference championship. This also gives Kansas City a lot of room to work with in the next couple years after their absolute dogshit season.
In other news, WR Stefon Diggs is being released from the Patriots. Diggs has a solid on-field reputation, and 85-1,013 line in the regular season was nothing to be ashamed of. He was basically silent in the playoffs though, even if NE is a team known to spread the ball a heavy amount. This also adds an insane $33.5 in cap space for the Patriots, probably worth dumping off Diggs and his off-field antics. Not worth keeping him just for him to get suspended for whopping a 15-year old girl or some shit. That much cap space, a brutally powerful defense, and Drake Maye’s beautiful arm really opens the door for possibilities next year. AJ Brown is dying to get out of Philly, but I don’t know what we’d have to give up to the greedy fucking Eagles to make that work. Alec Pierce is a strong young player that would fit in well, but this is an exciting time in Patriots football.
Keeping on with some sad football news, legendary college football coach Lou Holtz passed away today at 89 years old. Very well known for his 11 years and 100 wins with the Fighting Irish, he also saw success outside of Notre Dame with 22 total bowl appearances and 249 total wins. No jokes, nothing but respect for him and his family because he was absolutely a legend of a coach.
In some exciting news the Spurs absolutely mauled the 76ers last night, a 40-point win holding Philly to less than 95 points. I’m not a spurs fan but everyone loves to watch the Sixers lose, right? 131 points for San Antonio with only 10 coming from their star player is a statement in itself, Dylan Harper with 22 off the bench and Stephon Castle with a mild double-double.
Hot Take #1: The NBA Finals will feature the San Antonio Spurs (beat Thunder in West Finals) vs. Detroit Pistons (beat Celtics in East Finals). If Tatum is back in time, then maybe the Celtics instead but for now, that’s my take.
Oh, who could also forget about Pedro’s performance today for Chelsea. Joao Pedro found the back of the net 3 times today against a formidable Aston Villa defense. Chelsea has been rolling lately, and I’ll talk about my expectations for them in the UCL in a video next week, but this was a stellar performance by the Brazilian. Chelsea moves up in the table, and as a Manchester United fan who just lost to Newcastle - I’m psyched to see Villa also stall at 51 points. I need United back in the UCL, I’m sick of no other competitions for us.
Lastly, I believe in full transparency. I know basically nothing about golf, but I’m slowly getting into it. I know about the invitationals, classics and such every weekend. I however, had NO IDEA that there was a league with teams, further more that they played using those technological simulators. That’s fucking HILARIOUS to me. Well I’d be a fake news channel if I didn’t report a hole-in-one from Tom Kim that sent the Jupiter Links to the playoffs. I mean how insanely clutch is that? Even if it does kind of feel like a video game…
