Daily juice report - TEAM USA ALL THE WAY!
What’s going on Juicers, it’s time for another daily report - the biggest news of the last 24 hours! There wasn’t much worth writing about, some minor stuff featured on our Twitter - @followthejuiice.
Headlining our report today is Team USA in the World Baseball Classic. I mean, what a game between them and the Dominican Republic last night. Many consider it boring, but a true baseball fan knows a 2-1 finish with the rosters that we were given isa grit match. No runs were scored past the 4th inning, making it an absolute battle for the entire latter half of the game. Home runs were robbed, bad calls were made, and fans watched eager to see who would advance. All three runs came on Solo shots, Gunnar Henderson, Junior Caminero and Roman Anthony. Anthony easily had the best reaction, saying he blacked out afterwards and doesn’t remember it - I would too if I hit the winning home run. Severino started out pretty strong, 6 K’s, but after that the DR was cycling through pitchers like nothing. The only thing that made this win tough was the last call of the game. The ball that was called a strike, denying the DR a walk in the final inning. That could have been a crucial difference-maker for the game, but I guess we’ll never know. The silver lining to this, is that the system that discovered it was a ball post-game is the same system thats now being implemented to the MLB. The ABS, or Automated Ball-Strike, System is going to be able to correct calls like this, preventing games from being led in the wrong direction or come down to one fucked up call. I’m sorry DR, very tough way to go out.
In other news there has been some interesting football signings. The first being QB Justin Fields going to the Chiefs, choosing them over other teams calling his number. This is interesting because he knows he’s a back-up when Mahomes returns, but he can still fit in really well with this offense for the time being. And hey, even if Mahomes is ready come September - he gets to spend a season learning from one of the best QBs of all-time.
The 49ers also made a move today to secure WR Christian Kirk on a 1-year $6 million contract. The 49ers on my eyes have won free agency, the only team as productive has been the Giants. They re-signed everyone important or restructured their contracts to make space, signed Mike Evans on a great price, took in an extra WR in Christian Kirk to work with Pearsall, and they obviously have serious weaponry in McCaffrey, Kittle and Purdy. This team is going to be elite next season and absolutely terrorize the division. Dare I even say it… undefeated?
