Daily juice report - just hand uconn the trophy…

Alright y’all… place your bets for the women’s UConn Huskies to take the chip this year. I mean that seriously… they had ANOTHER perfect season, beating St. John’s to continue their 47-game win streak. Yes, I know a season is only 31 games, that’s what I’m getting at. Not only is that the 5th longest D1 streak ever, but it’s a sign from the March Madness gods! Of the 10 perfect seasons UConn has had, they proceed to win it all 7 of those 10 times. That’s a 70% success rate when you think about it (just don’t think too hard). What in the fuck is in the water in Connecticut? You’d think these girls were participating in black magic.

Next up we continue our recent trend of featuring collegiate/rookie athletes with Walter Clayton Jr, the first-year NBA player just recently traded to Memphis. 14 assists in one game (I’m seeing some reports of 15) for the rookie. This new move has given him a lot more room to show what he’s really capable, especially since half of the Grizzlies’ roster has been on injury for the entire goddamn season. That’s a franchise record for a rookie, and he set that in a matter of what days? Weeks? It definitely gave Memphis the ball-movement they needed to take down Indiana with so much gusto. Good show! (But I’ll probably never mention your name on here again).

Now we gotta mention someone who’s the opposite of being a rookie. Lionel. Fucking. Messi. Orlando City took a quick 2-0 lead in Inter Miami by halftime, but the Argentinian prince had different plans. He netted two goals in the comeback effort, giving Miami a very late 4-2 win over Orlando. Insane stuff. He’s such a dick too… after securing the winning free kick he ran over to Orlando’s bench and asked them if they wanted autographs. That’s the worst way to “lil bro” a whole bench full of grown men, something only Messi could probably do.

Our last talking point finally references the NFL, the first actual BIG move of the offseason. The Lions have agreed to give up RB David Montgomery, but in return they pick up OL Juice Scruggs (love the name man) and both 4th and 7th round picks. Breaking this down sounds kinda lopsided but both teams are honestly improving. DMo’s ceiling is super high, but his usage in Detroit was low - even if he was happy. As if Jahmyr Gibbs could possibly need anymore touches, it will still be sad to see the Sonic and Knuckles duo part ways. Houston now has an established (not injured) RB to take the field now when Stroud inevitably chokes 50% of their games. In the grand scheme of things I would say Detroit “won” this trade, but only because they have Gibbs already. Any other RB1 and I think Houston would have gotten a higher value.
