Daily juice report - Pasquantino is a legend
Alright everybody, time for another Daily Juice Report. This one is poised to be pretty quick; anything related to NFL Free Agency or the UCL Round of 16 will have its own posts. Just a couple highlights for today…
The first being Vinnie Pasquantino’s unreal performance for Italy in their 9-1 win over Mexico to keep the World Baseball Classic dream alive. Pasquantino homered three times in the game, setting a new WBC record for most in a game during the classic. Italy has had surprising success in the first stage, going 4-0 through group play and beating the U.S in their third game. They head on to the quarterfinals vs Puerto Rico which should be fun, and if they keep this momentum riding, they could definitely go even further. On the other hand, he completely cucked the United States. Italy as a whole fucked us, beat us, secured our advancement, and then said, “you’re welcome, U.S.A”. That is the baseball equivalent of fucking your woman… and it was legendary of him.
Featuring some more great performances, UMass Amherst basketball takes down UNDEFEATED, (31-0) Miami-OH today. The RedHawks went their whole season without suffering a loss, but in the first round of the MAC tournament they went down to the UMass Minutemen 87-83. This was a nightmare situation for the RedHawks, but as a UMass alumni - I’m so excited. We go on to face Toledo in the semifinals and can possibly secure a spot in the March Madness bracket for the first time in 12 years! Now its speculated that the RedHawks season may not actually be over, but they could enter the tournament as a second team from the MAC, but this has only occurred in the conference once before. Either way, my gut is telling me the tournament this year will be FULL of upsets.
Another incredible performance last night came from Kawhi Leonard, dropping 45 points on the Timberwolves to secure a victory for the Clippers. This isn’t too crazy, until you realize he did it on 75% shooting, 67% from three and 90% free-throw. Dude was HOT, and that is worth mentioning.
Now to move into a couple retirement notices - Dwight Howard being the first. His isn’t too crazy to comprehend, I mean the dude is old. His post was corny as fuck, but yeah, his knees probably can’t handle the Superman-level show he used to put on. Either way, he’s obviously still a HOFer, and he is one of the most well-known and arguably better centers of all-time. He added a level of dominance to the position that was lacking in those years (besides Shaq). Either way, he can be happy to be spending the rest of his days letting hookers shit on his chest or whatever it was that he liked doing.
Bryce Huff was the more surprising retiree, as he’s only 27 years old. A DE for 6 seasons, he won a ring with Philly back in 2024. I guess that was enough for the big man to call it a career, but he was still performing pretty well. Signed as a free agent out of Memphis, it took him a few seasons to heat up, but he’s leaving it all. Partly because of injuries, partly to start a business - extremely niche, but to protect homes from lithium battery damage. Not sure if he had a close-call or bad experience, but this just feels odd to me. I get he was injured, but he could have healed and worked it out - man just wasn’t hungry enough. Good luck to him though, he wasn’t a super notable player - just an interesting story.
